KIOCH [Kathmandu Institute of Child Health] is a not-for-profit organization established in 2017. It aims to deliver integrated multispecialty high-quality healthcare for children that is affordable, accessible, and available to all, thus advancing the Quality of Life of Children in Nepal, focusing on providing solutions to ever-rising healthcare needs and consistent poor health outcomes for millions of children in Nepal.
KIOCH is working to accomplish its aim by establishing a multi-specialty children’s hospital (hub) in the nation’s capital, Kathmandu followed by “spokes” or satellite centers established in strategic locations, at least one in each province. To reach its goal KIOCH is working in coordination with the Central, Provincial, and Local Governments. KIOCH has signed a Memorandum of Understanding of cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Health and Population.
KIOCH has started construction of a hospital building in Kathmandu on about 21 thousand square meters of land obtained from the Government of Nepal. Our 50 bedded KIOCH-Damak Children’s Hospital in Red Cross Complex at Damak is already in operation providing medical services to sick children of Koshi Province through this hospital. KIOCH currently hosts the secretariat of CAMHSAN.
